Objectives: To use the in situ X-ray analysis (diffraction, imaging,…) on great instruments
Pre-requirements: Basic knowledge on radiation/matter interaction (Bragg law, absorption, fluorescence,…), crystallography (crystalline structure, miller indices, stereographic projection,…)
Educational content of the course:
Reminders on the radiation/matter interaction; X-ray sources on synchrotron: bending magnets, wigglers, inverters. Beam conditioning (monochromators …); Point detectors, 2D, dispersive imaging: radiography, tomography, phase contrast; Diffraction (specific devices …) stress measurements,…. Methods combining diffraction and imaging.
